National Bike Month

May 10, 2012

It’s National Bike Month!

Celebrate with a very special Bike to Work Breakfast next Friday, May 18th 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. at Pitkin Plaza, in front of the Devil’s Gear Bike Shop at 181 Orange Street.

Special features of this month’s breakfast include:

  • A challenge to convert a friend to a bike rider. The person who can convert the most friends will win a free bike tune up from the Devil’s Gear Bike Shop. Download the sign-up sheet.
  • A friendly competition between New Haven, Hartford, New London and all the other towns sponsoring Bike to Work events to see who can have the biggest turn out.  Bring your friends!
  • CTTransit staff demonstrating how to put a bike on the bike racks mounted to the front. These are the same bus rack mounted on the Yale Shuttle so stop by and give it a try!

If you do plan on riding next week, be sure to participate in CT Rides Week. CT Rides is challenging those who commute by car alone to try something new, even just for one day.

Download the National Bike Month calendar to check out what other events are happening during National Bike Month.
